Have you ever wondered how to get through hard times? We all experience trials. It’s an inevitable fact because we live in a fallen world.

One of the benefits of being a Child of God is that He gives us the strength and help we need even during tough times.

He promises to be with us always, and we are not alone. If you are experiencing hard times right now, I pray that you will receive the encouragement and strength you need today.

Getting through hard times Isaiah 41:10
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 NLT

God is With You in Hard Times

The verse above is so good that it’s worth taking the time to read it over and over. Meditate on it and memorize it. Commit it to memory and allow it to become etched upon your heart.

In the book of Isaiah, God instructs us not to be afraid. No matter what we’re dealing with, no matter what we’re going through, no matter what we’re experiencing, we must remember God’s words.

In addition to the command not to be afraid, The Lord also comforts us with the words “I am with you.” In the moments when we’re tempted to forget, God’s Word reminds of His faithfulness.

He is with us. That fact alone should cause us to hold our chin up a little higher. The Creator of the world is with us. God Almighty, The Alpha and Omega, the Ancient of Days, Jehovah Jireh- is with us!

There’s no need to be afraid or discouraged because He is an awesome God and a good Father. Nothing and no one is greater than Him!

No problem, issue, or situation is too hard for Him.

What to Do in Hard Times

“I am the LORD, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?”

 Jeremiah 32:27

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life and daily routines, it’s easy to allow problems and negative things to keep our attention. We must fight this temptation and do just as Philippians 4:8 instructs:

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

Philippians 4:8

Once we shift our mindset and think about things that are good and excellent, we need to be sure we don’t allow worry back into our hearts.

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

1 Peter 5:7 NLT

It says give all your worries and cares to God. When we do this properly, we don’t have anything left to worry about because we already gave it all to God. When there are no worries or cares left, we can live in peace and trust God freely.

God knows what you may be dealing with right now. He knows what you need. He has a plan for your life, and His plan is good.

Don’t Be Discouraged

In Isaiah 41:10 God commands, “…Don’t be discouraged for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you.”

In times when we feel weak, He’s our strength. Nehemiah 8:10 tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength. In addition to the strength He promises us, He also says He will help us. We don’t have to do anything on our own.

Our Great and Mighty God tells us that He is here to help us! We don’t have to shoulder the burden of doing everything in our own strength. We have God on our side. He is the best help we could ever receive!

Victory & Protection

The last part of Isaiah 41:10 says, “…I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” Our victorious God will hold us up.

We already know the outcome with God on our side! God won’t let us fail. We can’t lose! We have the victory through Christ Jesus.

Continue to hold on to those promises no matter what the situation looks like.

If you’re a child of God, He won’t let you fall. He won’t forsake you.

This is comforting! God says He will hold us up. Even when we feel weak, He is our strength. He will give us what we need to persevere. It is our job to rely on Him.

Since God is with us and He helps us, we can trust Him completely in any situation, including the hard times.
